The project fictionalizes a historical period around 3000 BC, spanning the transition between the second and first millennia BC or earlier, when seashells represented wealth and power. During this time, the Phoenicians and Nabataeans used seashells as a medium of exchange along ancient trade routes and ports on the Red Sea and the Arabian Gulf. This era preceded the rise of coins, gold, and silver, marking a significant social and economic transformation as societies transitioned from shell-based exchange to precious metals, leading to new forms of economic power, taxation systems, and the rise of new states and empires. It marked the beginning of formal monetary economies, where value was less tied to symbolic meaning and more to universal measures of worth
