My Heart’s Desire

Installation of Mirror | projection | 2014

“My Heart’s Desire” is an immersive installation set within a darkened room containing only a mirror and a projection of text resembling movie subtitles.

Main objective it to make the audience engages not only with the work but also with their own reflections, creating a triangular interaction between them selves, the mirror, and the projected text. The text-sometimes poetic, some
times instructive, or even lyrical-acts as a third presence, subtly influencing the viewer’s perception and experience. This interplay generates a layered and introspective encounter, blurring the line between inner thought and external suggestion.

The installation was exhibited at Medrar for Contemporary Art in
Cairo as part of the annual Roznama Exhibition and prize
